The Michigan Business Brokers Association is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is promoting confidentiality, ethics, and cooperative communication among Professional Business Brokers in Michigan.

The practice of business brokerage, by its very nature, demands that a professional Business Broker possess an acumen for business operations and a respect for confidentiality well beyond that of non-business general practitioners in real estate or commercial fields.

The united effort of informed and educated professionals insures the highest standards, ethics and efficiency when marketing and selling businesses.

The organization was incorporated in 1983 to experience the benefits of group synergism with the end goal of better serving the MBBA Member's respective clients.

The Ethics and Professional Standards board provides a venue for both the MBBA Members and the general public, thus insuring the maintenance of the high standards and integrity of the Business Brokerage profession.

Individual MBBA Members exchange information via phone, FAX, and computer network on a daily basis. The process is quick and efficient, and provides the members with needed immediate information regarding transactions. This provides the best service to both the purchaser and seller with accurate, up to date, confidential information.

MEETINGS

The various Regional MBBA Chapters meet independently on a monthly basis.

EDUCATION

The Michigan Business Brokers Association provides its members with educational seminars covering a variety of pertinent subjects germane to the sale and acquisition of businesses including tax law, Federal and State disclosure requirements, environmental challenges, securities, usury rates, marketing and advertising – to name a few.

The MBBA also provides continuing educational classes certified by the State of Michigan to fulfill licensure requirements. The subject matter and course outline are always geared to the interests of the Professional Business Broker.

The membership of the Michigan Business Brokers Association is made up of professionals involved in the sale, acquisition, leasing, consulting and financing of businesses.
